Meet Sarah: A Mom’s Journey Through the Early Years

When Sarah became a mom, her world shifted in the most beautiful and overwhelming ways. Like so many of us, she found herself juggling sleepless nights, tiny giggles, and big questions—especially when it came to helping her baby grow, learn, and thrive. “I wanted to be intentional about everything,” Sarah shared. “From tummy time to story time, I just kept wondering—am I doing enough?”

That question led her to Emily’s Read and Play Academy. What started as a curious click turned into a community she didn’t know she needed. “I used to feel like I had to be a certified teacher to teach my baby anything,” Sarah said with a smile. “But Emily helped me see that my presence, my voice, and even the silly songs I sing—those are powerful tools for early learning.” Now, reading time has become one of their most treasured routines. Whether it’s a touch-and-feel board book or pointing out shapes on a page, Sarah knows every moment counts. “I’ve learned that play is learning. And reading together is more than preparing for school—it’s building connection.”

Sarah’s story is just one of many. At Emily’s Read and Play Academy, we believe in empowering parents to be their child’s first and favorite teacher—no pressure, just presence.

About Your Elite Reading Coach:

Hello! I’m Emily, and for over 10 years, I’ve devoted my life to helping children unlock the power of reading.

My passion for literacy began early, inspired by my mother—a retired teacher—who had a gift for making learning feel like play. She turned lessons into joyful moments, and that spark ignited in me a lifelong love of learning.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked with countless struggling readers—kids who have faced tears, frustration, and moments of feeling “less than” because reading didn’t come easily. I’ve seen slumped shoulders and fading confidence. But I’ve also witnessed the transformation that happens when children and adults get the right support. I’ve seen their eyes light up, their confidence soar, and the pride that comes with mastering a skill they once thought was out of reach.

Reading changes lives. And when we empower children with the tools they need, it doesn’t just open books—it opens worlds.

I believe that nearly every child can become a strong, confident, and joyful reader. My mission is to guide your child through that journey—step by step—with patience, encouragement, and just the right mix of fun and structure.

If your child is facing challenges in reading, you are not alone—and neither are they. Together, we’ll turn their reading journey into an adventure they look forward to every day.

Let’s get started!
